Happy New Years!!!!!

Happy New years everyone! Today was nice... Just got hang out a bit at the house.. Martine had some friends over.. That was nice as I said... NOw I am at Tess's house and we are going to the melkweg for the New Years Eve celebration.. IT should be fun.. I have never been to a big party like this before! The concert hall is sold out! So yeah!!!!
Also an interesting story... Got to have a homeless man sit by me on the train... He has lived in the Schipol Airport for the last 10 years... I told him that since it was voted as a top airport of teh world he picked a nice one.. He also said that he would never dumpster dive.. But at Schipol teh stuff he finds is so nice.. That he doesn't mind... After a few minutes of.. Fear.. and curious chatter.. The conductor came and kicked him off.. It's cold out there.. So I feel a bit bad for him... Good luck young guy!!! OK well now I need to call my mom and get ready for the night!!! Oh! Its gonna be a long one!!!!!

OK so for real now...

So yes I missed yesterday! terrible aint it! But oh well... Now Tess and I both are minus 1 day.... This weekend was busy and very fun! I went with Tess and Anel to Amsterdam on Saturday for some shopping.. Got some jeans and a whole load of random little suveniours and presents... We also went to the Joordan market... Our favorite one... Not too many people were there,.... Guess everyone was on vacation... We got our favorite Tomato tempanade... It was so good! I could just eat like I dunno... six cups straight of it! And Tess got some Bread... and Anel got some stuffed peppers... A nice little meal.. Which we ate in this fabulous little jewel of a restaurant called.. De Blauwe.. Something or another... Which is the Blue... And yeah I can't remember what the last part of the name was... Anyway! We all got a nice bowl of soup... And ate all our little treats with it... It was so good! I got the pea soup... YUM!
Wow! I am really not in the flow of blogging.. It's like a really awful blog... Sorry! Hahaha! Then we stayed the night at Anel's house.... Sunday was Anel's going away party.. It was fun.. we did a white elephant.. But with the 7 girls... Everyone was nice and didn't steal... So it wasn't too fun.. I would have... But I really didn't want anything else.. and I knew I wanted the gift that Tess brought! Hahaha! So I just got that! Its an Amsterdam bag... Very cute.
Then last night after everyone left and we harassed Anel more than enough about being from Africa... We said goodbye.. I really do like Anel a lot.. So I will miss her! I will miss her as much as she will miss fresh food.. Clothes... Homes that don't allow the breeze to come in through small holes in the straw walls... And of course.. electricity and running water... Click click old friend.. Click click!
Then Tess and I ended the night with some awesome Wii action! Her family got a Wii for Christmas... SO we warmed it up for them! It was so fun! My arm is still sore though!... Of course I'm sure that the fact that I painted half the au pair room today doesn't help! On my way home today.. I saw that I had to wait 25 minutes till my buss would come.. So I thought I would take a peak in at the shopping center... I didn't find a belt like I wanted... but I did FINALLY get the shoes I wanted! Thanks Martine! They are so cute! I'm very happy!
And yes.. So now my day ends.. I'm super tired... I would have gone to bed already.. But the new season of America's Next Top Model and Project Runway started tonight! And these are two seasons I haven't seen! I am a bit annoyed that they decided to be on now! When I can only watch one more week of them before I go home! That's right... 2 more weeks... and I will be home,... It's ok.. Cause both those shows are played like crazy in reruns! So I am so set!

Merry Christmas one and all!!!

So today was really a nice Christmas.. I mean it didn't feel totally like Christmas.. But that's only because I'm not with my family.. Doing my family's traditions... Instead we did it the Martine way... Her parents came over this afternoon, we played cards and ate sandwiches.. Phase Ten was of course my family's traditional input.. Oh and I'm getting ahead of myself!
To start the day off.. well after getting dressed and making myself mooi.. I went downstairs and got to work, making a pumpkin pie and I apple raspberry pie.. Thijs helped and it was really quite fun! He really likes to help me cook. Then the parents came over.. Aka.. Opa and Oma.. That's what I call them... I know that probably makes them feel old! But they could very well be! And they are so sweet... So I don't mind having them as my temporary Grandparents...
So we played cards and I learned that Opa Herman likes to cheat.. Just like My Grandpa Chuck! And Oma Bap, likes to call him on it... Just like My Grandma Patsy... It was really fun! Then Lise and Antwan.. Sorry I know I didn't spell that right again.. But yah know there are a few ways to spell it Antwone! Hahaha! Anywho... They came over.. I did some more dancing With Mr. Thijs and Jetje played with Opa as usual!
We had some yummy starters to snack on.. Hummus and bread and meats... brought by Lise.. Then Oma made some REALLY yummy dinner! ORGANIC meatballs.. hehe... A yummy "rolade" aka.. Meat wrapped around herbs... and a nice pasta with veggies and goat cheese... Oh sheesh it was all so good!
The dinner finished off with coffee and pie.. My pumpkin pie was a hit.. and I must say I am so good at making it now! The Apple raspberry was ok.. i'm not such a fan of it.. and it was so sour! But good just the same!
After that I called my family back home... We spoke for 15 minutes or so... But they had just barely started opening the presents... So they were a bit preoccupied.. Which is ok... i got to speak with everyone in my family.. well except Adam.. I'm assuming he was still in bed!
When I was finished with the skype call I was downstairs in time to say goodnight to the family... Oh well not till after they went to look at the pictures of Modder on my blog! It was actually kinda sad to say goodbye to the family.. I really do like them a lot! So I hope I can see them again! I told Martine tonight I feel like I'm part of the family now.. I get hugs and kisses goodbye from everyone! Which is so nice.. Especially when you are away from home for so long.. Some days, like Christmas, you just need some extra hugs..

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas!

So today we spent the day getting the house ready for Christmas.. And like I mentioned.. Here they don't care so much about Christmas Eve... As they do Christmas Day.. and Second Christmas Day.... Aka... 25th and 26th.... So I was feeling a little bit bummed about it all.. But then at the same time.. It's like.. it's not even Christmas.. So I'm not minding so much.. But then when I talk to my Mom and hear whats happening in the drama called.. A Schnieder Christmas.. It makes me a little homesick.. But like I told Martine... Not that I miss that... I just like to be with my Mom.. Help her not to stress.. and joke about the... sorry to say this.. The stupidity... of some of her family... don't worry I'm nearly positive if you are reading this blog, you are not one of them I am speaking of...
So I got the bathrooms all cleaned.. The upstairs mopped and all of the house vacuumed today... Not so bad.. I also made some CD's with pictures on them.. As well as that Bing Crosby CD burned... Thijs and I had so much fun tonight dancing.. Last night we danced a bit before we went to bed.. And he was so sad when we had to stop.. So I told him we would do it again tonight... So we did.. It was nice.. But he was easily distracted.. I also constructed a card holding rope.. Martine but this super cute colored rope.. and I hung it up and clipped all of her Christmas cards on it.. She honestly got at least 20!!! Everyday more and more!!!!
Oh also.. The upstairs flooring was put in! In a snap! Gruus.. the old man.. He brought some young guy with him today.. And the kids had all the flooring in in like 4 hours!!! Granted it wasn't a big space! But sheesh!... I am so lazy however.. I haven't even gone up to look at it!!! While Gruus was here he put up the wallpaper downstairs.. It looks really nice! So we have all the lights in and the wallpaper up.. And it's startin to look like a real house! Oh yes and not to forget! Martine and I hung the curtains today.. So yeah! It's really starting to shape up!!!
OK... Well I need to go to bed.. quite sleepy... Though Martine is letting me sleep in.. So sweet.

Lets see what can I say today?????

So Today is Christmas Eve's eve... and if I were at home I would be wishing you all a merry Christmas Eve's eve... But I am here.. And Christmas Eve seems to not be such a big deal... And since I'm in a house full of young children Christmas itself isn't such a big deal I think.. Because when,at home they would be excited about Santa Claus.. here they have already celebrated the arrival of Sinter Klaas.. So they wont be waiting for Santa... And instead of doing Christmas Eve... they have second Christmas Day.. Which is the 26th... I dunno what that's all about yet, really...
I'm doing my very best to make it feel like Christmas.. with all the music and everything.. But it just isn't quite there.. They just don't seem to celebrate it the same way we do in the states... Also since it's not going to be spent with MY family.. it makes it harder.. But I will be happy to celebrate it with Martine's family.. And the kids.. They are my family right now.. Then I will go spend the weekend with Tess.. maybe we can feel a little more Christmasy!
Well sheesh.. Nothing exciting today again.. Though I did make a rather tasty dinner I must say! I made a lovely white fish, with cous cous and some peppers I cooked in the oven... very nice!

Nothing... really.

Today was a completely uneventful day.. Like alarmingly so.. The only bits of news I have are.. I finished ALL 10 seasons of the Friends series today! IT was sad... I'm gonna miss them.. But I know when I get home I will have them there on re-run!!! In other news... The electrician guy came today.. and finished putting in all the lamps and such.. So that's all done.. Oh I don't know if I mentioned that Martine put up the Christmas tree this weekend! So that's nice... Tonight we turned off the main lights downstairs and just had candles and the Christmas tree to light up the room.. It was nice.. And I put on some Frank Sinatra... I was going to play Bing Crosby... But my Ipod is updated above my computers version of itunes.. hehe.. so I can't get any new music on it.. And I'm out of Cd's to burn.. So I need Martine to try to help me update my computer.. Not that I am unable to.. But it's 'just that I am.. actually unable to with the computer settings.. so yeah.. I hope we can fix that in the next coming days.. So thanks for the music Mom!
Well today when the kids got home I was in the kitchen as usual making dinner while the kids watch TV and play.. And Jetje she kept jumping on the couch... and I kept telling her not to and that she was gonna fall.. Do I even need to type it? She of course fell and landed right smack dab on her forehead!!! And I'm so mean... My first reaction was.. Jetje I keep telling you not to jump on the couch! Then I sad I was sorry she was hurt.. put a wet towel on her forehead and helped settle her down.. But I was so annoyed that she fell cause I kept telling her! I am so mean huh? But I did of course feel bad cause I heard it! I knew it hurt!
Ok.. Well that's it! I should hope that I am able to blog the pictures tomorrow.. We'll see.. I'm so lazy huh????

Van Gogh and other things you say like you're chocking on a whole herring....

So today Tess and I in an effort to see everything we wanted to see while in Holland... We went to the Van Gogh museum.. It was quite busy! But it was really nice! Plus! Myriam was ultra nice and let us take her museum cards, so we got in free.. And Martine gave me her card so we could get free audio tours! It was really really great! We learned a whole lot about Van Gogh... It's definitely a must see of Amsterdam.. I also think it's very interesting... Most people think he is French.. While he did spend most of his time, while painting, in France he was actually Dutch... And I also was not aware that he killed himself.. Also VERY interesting.. he shot himself in the chest in a field.. and died TWO days later!!! With his brother Theo by his side.. And this was just 2 months or so after he was released by an asylum... Yeah just some cool FYI.. Of course you can learn more at the museum website (make sure you select English) and by clicking on his name above.... My favorite were... Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette, 1886 , Almond Blossom, 1890 and Pink Peach Tree, 1888 . Those were my favorite of his... Man oh man.. The Almond Blossom is so striking.. Nothing can ever do it justice... It is so SO beautiful!!! I really loved it! I was also impressed by my art knowledge.. my mother would be so proud.. 3 art pieces I knew who they were done by before I could read the names... One Degas sculpture, a Whistler painting, and of course a Renoir painting... Renoir is my favorite artist.. All time.. I love his stuff! So I thought that was pretty great... If you click on the names above you can learn about the artist... You will recognise them all.. And click on what it was and you can see the art we saw, that I'm talking about... I just want to add this Renoir piece cause its so my fav ever!!!
Any who.... So we had a really really great time at the museum.. Then we went to the temporary exhibit... and we did not enjoy it half so much.. We didn't like the art as much and the multi media was really boring.. Because it wasn't about the artist.. It was about the foundation who collected the art pieces.. Though I did think it was interesting.. In like 1961 the Dutch were all excited to purchase this piece by Rembrandt.. and they even had the Queen there and everything at the unavailing.. And they paid a ridiculous amount for it.. And soon after they found out it was not actually a Rembrandt.. But one of his students or something.. But I was fooled! When I first saw it I told Tess how I loved how Rembrandt is so good at doing light in darkness.. Yeah felt a lil dumb.. But not so dumb since the Dutch paid 8 million for it!!! Yeah I can't find out anything on that painting online.. But its interesting all the same!!!

Yummy burp...

So today was really really fun! We got to go to Utrecht and see a friend we met a while back.,.. We are soul sisters I' m sure!!! Hehehe! We met at the Ben Folds concert back in June... Her name is Lise and she is totally cool! I was so bummed we didn't hang out before.. Cause she is really so cool!
While in Utrecht we shopped! I of course won the competition that I made up... Of who can find the best deal.. I made it up after I found a SUPER cute pair of skinny jeans for only 5 euro! And through out the day no one else found a better deal! Hahaha! I also got a grey shirt for 12.50! I did pretty good! So tomorrow when we hopefully got to the Van Gogh museum I will have a new outfit to wear.. Because I decided to just stay the night at Tess's... So yeah! I since I have a extra pair of undies at her place.. I 'm good to go!!!
Yeah also Lise loaded up Tess and mines ipods.. which were wiped clean.. with an additional 600 or so songs! I took some pictures of the day... But I will post those for you on Sunday or Monday.... We ate lunch at the place... Ummm... La Place... hehehehe! It was super yummy! I had my first bit of Dutch pea soup! It was super yummy!!!! like times 3!!!! And Tess and I shared this delicious cream cheese sandwich! It was really cool because it was on the top of this store.... Like 5 6 stories up... It was like we were on top of the city! And the view was really cool of the top of the city and buildings!
Well... I should be getting to sleep... Don't you think it is so nice that Tess is letting me use her computer... Even though we are in competition... and she could have said no! It is also nice that she is going to apparently sleep on the floor.. and let me sleep in her bed because we have just discovered we are one mattress short!!!! So yeah! Awesome!!! Lame.. I know... Dog Blog!

Now I can never ever EVER claim to love dogs as much as my friend Heather.. But man oh man I really do love dogs!!! And today I got the chance to go to Martine's sister, Lise's, house... And she just got a new puppy this week... She is so pretty! She is I guess some type of dutch sheep dog.. But she is quite small.. and they said she wont get too much bigger.. I want one! Hehehe!

This is Modder!!!

Modder means "Mud" in Dutch... So cute! Oh she was so sweet!!!!

She was running out from under the Christmas tree.. She knows better than that! In the next pic.. She kept whimpering to get out to pee or something... But she just wanted to play instead.. So Lise and Anton tried to trap her in to pee.. Finally after we all went inside Anton got her to pee! Hehehe!

Yeah it was really fun as I said.. And I had fun taking pictures of her.. and as always I enjoyed seeing Lise.. She is always so nice to me.. And I'm not just writing that because of the possibility that she might read this.. But because its true.. As I have written before! Hehehe!

Well we had a lot of fun playing with Modder.. She is only like 9 weeks old.. So she likes to chew on you! Sh instantly took a liking to me.. Since I let her chew on my shoe laces and bite my hands.. But she does have kinda sharp teeth.. So Thijs and Jet we a bit scared of her.. But by the end of the hour we had her pretty well worn out... So she started to fall asleep.. Yeah I know its lame.. like I said.. I have a whole blog on this dog.. But she is so stinkin cute!

Awe she is so cute.. how can you not love that face!Unlike babies though... Puppies are always cute!!!! Heheheh! Except for the rat ones...

So moving on past the dog.. it will be difficult.. But I will try to move on...

Thijs got a toy tool table from Sinter Klaas.. We have been waiting to put it together till everything was done... so we finally got to put it together today.. it is really cool! And its held together with toy screws and stuff. Though it is quite stable.. But its just so cool cause Thijs could really really help put it together!!! He had so much fun! And he was very serious about it all too!

He and Martine worked hard to get it all put together.. I of course was there to take pictures!!! I even used her video camera so she could have some of it! Once it was all done.. Thijs put on his work goggles and got to work... This is my favorite picture of the bunch!!!!

He is so tough!!!! I love this lil kid! Hehehe!!!!

Oh yes and in other news.. The construction workers are gone.. Now of course its not all done.. We still have to get the electrician... And apparently the shower parts were broken of something.. So Martine had to get new ones.. And so now they have to wait until Monday to install it... And the stucco guys have to come on Monday as well to spray the upstairs.. But aside from all that... Its pretty much done! It really is nice to have the house back to ourselves!!! We have all, especially the last couple weeks, been feeling the stress of it all! So its nice to be done!!! Yippie!!!

Oh by gosh by golly! Its time for mistletoe and holly!

Awe Good ole Franky... I've been listening to my Christmas music my mom emailed me non-stop the last 3 days... I don't know if Martine likes it as much as I do.. And it would be nice if I had more than 2 CD's to listen to... But I do enjoy it entirely! My mom tried to send me some of my Bing Crosby Christmas music.. since he is like the best! And when I tried to play it I realised it was labeled.. Cosby.. As in Bill Cosby... And it was the Fat Albert theme song! So not what I wanted! hahaha! But I love her for trying...
Thijs and Jet have been so sweet to me lately... Thijs is trying to come to terms with the fact that I'm leaving soon... Crap I am trying too... And every night he asks me when I am leaving... its really sad for me... I feel like another person he loves... that's leaving him.. So I really think its important that I do my best to stay in his life... I really love the lil guy so much.. I am going to miss him so much! Just writing this and thinking about it is making me tear up a bit... I am a bit emotional today... I bawled my eyes out today at this TV show!!!
And jetje.. Oh man she is so sweet! She makes me laugh so much! I will miss her too... But I really feel that Thijs and I have a very spacial bond.. We just liek to hang out.. And he likes to sit on my lap and watch Tv.. And Jet she likes to sit by herself yah know... But Thijs is a cuddler... Hehehe.
The past couple days when I've gotten up Thijs has said to me "Becky, ja ben hele mooi!" Its so sweet... he's saying.. "Becky you are so pretty!" It's just really so sweet... and if he ever upsets me he feels really really bad about it... We also like to read stories together.... I am amazed by how much he understands.. I brought a bunch of English children's books.. And he loves it when I read to him! Last night we red the book... Well now I can't remember what its called.. But it's bout a peddler who sells hats... And they are stolen by monkeys! Anyway.. Thijs is thinks its so funny... I'm sure my great reading skills has something to do with it.. Thank you radio... But he was saying... "You Monkeys you! You give me back my caps!" Which is a line from the book! And he also says... "Caps for sale! Caps for sale! 50 cents a cap!" He does it so well! He makes me smile! Obviously!
So yeah.. There is my blog to Thijs and Jet... and I shouldn't forget to mention Martine.. I mean.. I really really am gonna miss her! We have so much fun together! And I will miss the Nesspresso! Hehehe... Well yeah.. I love the people in my house... And that's good.. I think thats what makes a house a home...

House Work!

Well yes I have been doing a lot of house work... And the workers have too... Oh and so has Martine.. I should mention that... hehehe... Anyway! This week the work has been on getting the flooring in! And the guy doing the flooring is nice enough.. Though I don't think he speaks much English.. AND! His Butt crack is ALWAYS hanging out! He is nice though... I look at him and think he should have a moustache.. but he doesn't... pity.So here it is! The new flooring!!!!



Ok so of course that isn't really it.. Its just what you see when you first walk into the house.. Its like... Juice box carton.. material.. stuff.. Any way.. Its just to keep the floor safe from the workers...

Its like this lovely light wood.. But it has darks in it,, the colors are very cool tones.. And you can see purples and blue and greens and browns in it.. It so nice...

So there's been the old man helping out around the house.. He's like a handy man.. he's a friend or something of Margot's... where th kids go... And he has been helping out ALOT! He is great! he speaks.. of course very little English.. But sometimes he surprises me! Oh yeah his name is Grus.... Which is like Hoorse... heheh eI dont know ...




Oh yes.. And this weekend martine decided to paint abit of art in the kids corer.. it's very cute! She did a great job!



The downstairs has of course been like crazy messy.. well the last 3 months I feel! Haha! It will be nice to have everything to normal again!!!! Its like ridiculously dusty! I mean of course with the floor going in it is.. But man o man! guys are so messy!!!!



My room is coming along just swimmingly! Yes oh yes! Its ready for me to move in any day! Just ask anyone who's seen my room... They'll tell you I'll fit right in!!!!

Yeah so there still is a little work to be done... They say they will be done in.. 2 days! I don't know.. I will believe it when I see it!I mean I guess they will be.. But all the finish work is still left to be done and my room is getting new carpet.. so yeah I don't know when all this will happen

Oh and this is my new bathroom.. I wont lie.. Even to spare Martines feelings.. WORLDS SMALLEST SHOWER!!!! So glad my big butt doesn't have to use that much!!!!



And to end this.. This is Dave.. He has been practically living here.. at least it feels that way some days... He is like the foreman I guess you could call him.. He's doing most of the work and organising the rest of them! So yeah... He's quite funny... and even though he tried to be nice.. He admitted later that he does not enjoy my pumpkin pie! What a punk!

Foggy...

So it's been so foggy today! Last night as Martine and I put up the decorations I saw the fog slowly start rollin in... And then this morning you could hardly see... With all the fog out! It's so crazy! I've not seen anything like this the whole year! Hollands got some CRAZY weather! And I know its lame to write about the weather... But believe me! When you''re on a bike as much as Tess and I are.. The weather starts to get interesting!!! I've almost met my goal of watching all of the friends series.. I'm now onto the second disc of the tenth season... I'm quite proud! And I hope I really can make it! I need to do some seriously slacking! And stop all this working nonsense! I'll do my best I suppose.. That's all one can do! Yeah.. nothing to say! Wait! Jet did the funniest thing today... I video taped it.. lets see if I can post it.... Yay! It seems to have worked! Its so funny! At least to me it is!!!!

A blog to let you know... stuff...

So I will start out by saying that we found a new au pair.. This happened sometime last week... I just forgot to mention it... She seems really nice! And she is from Spane! So since she is in the European Union she can stay as long as she likes.. She seems really sweet and easy going... And she has friends from Holland... So that was part of the appeal for her.. She came last week to meet us.. and right away they decided that she was the one! So tahts really great... Thijs said he liked her too so that's really really great!!!!
I go home in 28 days... Tess just found out her family isn't coming to pick her up at the airport... and I'm hoping that my family will come get me... Then Tess can just ride with us.. I hope that works out.. I'm really getting excited to go home.. I think the season is making home sick.. NA d I will be glad to get home soon! But I know it will only take me a week or so to really really miss Holland and wish I were back here! I mean I already do wish it... But yeah.... So if you live in St George you should call me up when I get home and hang out with me... Since like all of my friends moved away on me.. I have no friends left.. So if you are my friend.. Then yay! Lets hang out!
The house work is nearly done! They say it will be all done by the end of the week! Which is great... But I don't think the au pair room will be complete by then... I have no idea... But it should be done by the time the new au pair arrives on January 6th... Haha! Oh well.. It's not really my room.. so I wont care... I almost would rather just stay down here in my room I"m in till I leave instead of having to move things all around! Haha! But I suppose that when I pack to go up stairs I will just pack my bags all up to go home and leave a few things out... Probably the best idea... Yeah.. So... I know its dumb.. But I was talking to my mom yesterday and it made me realise how excited I am to go home and get to go to church every Sunday.. I really do like to go to Church and it will make it so much easier to go when I dont have to make an hour long trek to get there... And when its not in Dutch... Yeah... So I'm excited for that... But.. I wont lie.. there are so many things I am not excited about.. But I will try to focus on the happy thoughts.. Like! I get to see Lucy! And I will get to babysit her.. and get paid to do so.. for at least the first month that I am home! So I'm happy about that.. SO I get to make up for lost time! Oh I'm sooooo soooooooo excited to see Lucy! It's interesting that I'm most excited to see a person I've never met.. But I am also VERY excited to see my mom and the rest of my family!
Also.. My mom is so sweet! She decided to leave up Christmas at our house till I get home.. Sur this does mean that I will probably be in charge of putting it all away.. WHICH is NOT an easy task.. But I'm tough... I will do it! I'm also exited to cook when I get home.. I don't want it to become this big thing.... But as long as I'm not working and I'm at home... I figure why not help cook... So yeah! Well alright... That's just about all I have to say tonight...
Oh yeah! Tonight I helped Martine put up some Christmas decorations... She had a few new ones.. and we made a bunch more.. Because Thijs has been requesting taht we make the house look nice for Kerst... aka Christmas... So we tried to spice things up a bit... But since the downstairs is a complete mess we couldn't do much.. But the windows look great!!!! And we will put the Christmas tree up as soon as the finish th flooring downstairs! Any day now!

It's getting so cold here...

So it's startin to get to that time of the year when it's really really cold! Well this time has been fastly approaching on us.. But man oh man the last few days on the bike have been really really bad! I think it's all the wetness in the air... It's like how in the summer... the 70 degree weather is awful! So now.. it's like 35degree's and the moisture in the air is killing me! When I ride my bike my cheeks ache with a sharp freezing sensation... It's really like outrageous! And I hate it! Everything hurts so much! And it's the wind and air that is doing it to me! So for that and some other reasons I am happy to be going home soon.. Not that St George will be so much better... But I wont be on a bike pulling two kids behind me! But I do hope to get a bike soon after I go home... And I want to ride my bike as long as I can... until I get tired.. and then once I'm a bit tired.. .Then I will turn back to go home.. But it wont be such sharp cold pains...
my hands are also cold.. I like to have fresh air in my room... so I keep the window open a crack... But then I get too cold... Oh... while I'm at this complaining thing... There are 3 ways of spelling 2, to and too... If you are saying the number.. its two.... if you are going to some place its to... and last.. and most often confused... If you're describing something as possibly extreme... then you say "woah man! That's too much salsa for me to eat!" oh and its also "me too!" and not "me to." that's like "me to? where? huh?" So yes there is my rant about 2, to and too!
So hmm... I think I'm all ranted out!

the Wait is.. I lost all the music from my ipod last week! And I'm especially sad at the time.. Because I also lost all my Christmas music! And I need it to feel like I'm at home.. So.. If you have any good stuff you would like to email me I would really really love that! Especially my Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra stuff (mom and Laura)

By the sea by the sea by the beautiful sea!

So Saturday we went to the sea! Yes we did! Anel wanted to swim so I was like! Heck yes lets go! So the day started out normal enough.. I missed my bus... met the girls later.. but I didn't miss the second bus I had to take so that was good... Then we rode to Den Haag... to... Scheveningen! It was such fun! When we got there it was already a very cold afternoon... We took the tram straight to the beach.. and bam! We were there!!!!
Yeah we kinda chickened out in the end and didn't swim.. Well! I really would have... but Anel chickened out.. and I didn't want to be miserable all by myself! So I just ran in the water with her.. We took so many pictures!!!! And spent like an hour on the beach... Then we walked around the boardwalk and checked out some stuff... had some tea I brought... And then that was it... we went home.. haha! It was already getting dark at like 4.. so yeah... Plus! I made some homemade chicken noodle soup and it was calling us home! On the way back to the tram! This fight broke out! IT was so funny!!!! It was like this old man in his 60's and like this young guy in his 30's it was so funny! And they really were throwing punches and once they were pulled apart from the ladies of the group, they continued and tried to kick each other! IT was so funny! really! and we had no idea what was happening to make things better!
When we got home... We had our soup with bread.. then played a game of Phase Ten... At around 10 we were bored.. So we went for a walk to the cool play stuff outside... since I won I got to pick what we did after phase ten.. and that's what I picked! We had a lot of fun and took loads more pics! The whole day was pretty dang fun! haha!So I hope you enjoy the pics!!! They are below in a photo bucket slide show!

Sea Bathing....

So a couple weeks ago our au pair friend, Anel, she said she wanted to go to the beach and swim before she went home... So! That's what we're doing today! And yes... It has been snowing off and on the last 2 weeks.. and Yes I know it is December.. But in Anels defence... She is fromSouth Africa! So it's like 100 degree's back home right now! So yeah! We have it all planned.. We're meeting and ghoing to Den Haag "The Hauge" And there we will check soem stuff out.. and then take the tram to the sea and swim! We've packed nice warm clothes.. and layers of them too! And we're going to swim in our shorts! Then quickly get back into our dry warm clothes! TEss is even bringing her hot water bottle and I'll bring my tea! So we can keep our clothes warm... and warm up quickly!!! Then we're coming back to my house.. the family is again out of town for the weekend! And we will have some yummy chicken noodle soup I made yesterday.. along with some pumpkin pie! It''s gonna be fun i think!!!!
Oh yes and don't worry! We will take pics!!! So you can see us freeze our butts off! Tess is also coming.. But not swimming.. So she can handle the camera duties!!!!!
Oh yes and I have a bit of a cold.. Hope this doesn't make it worse!!!!
