Quick update..

Yeah since I wrote my blog it started raining! And I have to go pick the kids up on ethe bike in like 30 mins! I REALLY hope it stops raining!!! Last week I went to pick them up and right when I got there it started raining! So I had to ride home in the pouring rain! With the kids crying and screaming! It was not fun! So I hope it miraculously stops raining for like and hour... in like 25 mins! Man!!!!!!!

Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da...

So this week has of course been a nice one... Tess and I made some lovely Mexican fajitas! Mmmmmmm so good! I was really wanting some nice guacamole... Yeah just in case you're wondering it should not be yellow... Thus you should not use unripe avocado's... hmm who knew! well I suppose we did know we just were hoping for the best... and thus far I have been highly successful in my avocado choosing... so I think I'll be sticking with the Albert Heijn package... So since only like 2 guys actually read this I have no problem in saying that I must have been a sight at the store today... Long pads, super plus tampons, soda, advil, twix and m&m's! Then I went to the shop with the french fries for lunch... Yeah I was rocking it hard core! haha! And in the end I ended up spending like 17 of my 30 euros for tomorrow... Which is Queens Day.

Queen's day I suppose is like the Irish St Patricks Day, the American 4th of July and the Mormon 24th of July! It's in celebration as you might have guessed of the Queen's birthday, while it isn't actually Queen Beatrix's birthday, they still celebrate it every April the 30th. It's pretty much a celebration of the culture and I think a great excuse to get out and drink and party! And help out the tourist economy. Tess and I both have tomorrow off so we can go to Amsterdam and experience this great festival! From what I'm told you just go to Amsterdam and bam... You're right smack dab in the celebration... I'm hoping we can find the music festivals and such... They're all free... Which is good... since Tess and I are mostly penniless... Oh yes and it seems another important thing to do is wear orange! That's the queens day color... So I promise to take loads of pics and report back to you asap! I'm hoping that Tess and I are feeling better.. She is not feeling so well and me... well just see above paragraphs... Hahha!

So I hope you all enjoyed the pics yesterday! Oh and I cut my bangs yesterday... They look really great! Better than Jet's hair looked... Also I cut Lisa and Beuadines hair, Tess's kiddies, and their hair turned out great... I guess Jet was the unfortunate one! Sorry baby girl!

Thijs is doing really good with speaking English... I must say... This week he's learned "Be careful" "look" and well some other words... I just can't really remember... Also he's decided that I'm the best at giving him a bath... But that's mostly cause I play with him and I let him get away with not getting out of the bath ASAP... While I know I shouldn't... I do... Then I wrap him up in his towel and we pretend that he's disapeared! And Martine can't find him anywhere! Then he magicall appears in his bed with his PJ's on... He thinks it's great! And I help him brush his teeth... So that's nice
Oh... and today I gave Jet a hair cut... not my proudest moment.. And Merium... Tess's hots momma... she wants me to do the kids hair tomorrow... Umm I dunno if I trust me... But the girls hair is long and curly... I'm far better at long hair... Plus.... Curly is easy to hind mistakes... Haha!
Oh yeah... And I seem to have lost the speacial card we use to throw our trash away... and Martine told me my first week not to loose it or it's coming outta my pocket... Well I hope I can find it! I keep looking and I just have no clue what so ever as to where it is! I'm so made iwth myself!!! I really hope I find it! NOt so much the money... but because I feel like an ultra dumb ass for loosing it! ANd so soon!!!!

Well all... I'm gonna go to bed... I have a long day ahead of me...

My armpit hairs are long enough to braid! I think I''m so Euro now!

Well I've found that is mostly a myth... or at least an old european thing... Though I do feel much left concientatous about going out of the house with hairy legs... But thats not the point of my blog... Just an OH MY GOSH! Thought... I've been a very bad au pair this week! To start with I didnt get everything done that I was supposed to this weekend... I enjoyed the laying around part a little too much... And the spent ALL day Staurday with the Norwegians in Amsterdam... Hmm how do you figure that? Well you see, Tess's sister in-law... the lovely Tamsin, had some friends from back home, in Norway, who wanted to come for the weekend, and stay with Tess... So we got to play tour guides! It was so fun! The girls were so sweet! Annika was the friend of Tamsin, she was such a hoot! Then she brought her friend Kari, who was the sweetest girl ever! And loads of fun!
Friday night I went to pick the girls up at the airport, it's only like one stop away from my house... after the 20 minute bus ride... So it's pretty easy to get there... Tess thought that it might be kinda fun to make a sign that says their names... since we never met them,... and Tess had to work... So I bought a huge neon pink poster board and a bouquet of yellow Tulips, so Dutch, and met them at the station. Well cute fstory. On the way to the station I hopped a bus... The guy didnt charge me. I asked why and he explained to me that the bus company just spent all this money on these new things to use for paying on the bus... Wekll they dont work... So they've been having to use the old stamp method... See if this makes sense... so they've got all these new busses now and not enough stamps for the busses... In fatc they're about 200 stamps short... So while they work out the new system, which should be dont by January 2009, they're just letting people take free rides it the driver doesnt have a stamp... ok...Anywho. So while the driver explained this we just started chatting and I told him I was going to Schipol... So when we got to the train station, he said he'd just drive me to the airport. Cause he was off and that's where he had to drop the bus off... So it was really nice! And I got there wuicker than if I would have taken the train!
So I was glad he drove me especially cause I was late to pick the girls up! But I quickly got where I needed to be, and stood with my flowers and poster... And stood... And stood... Then I heard overhead, Norwergian seeking Ms Becky."Please coem to the info booth" Haha!!! So funny!!! So I wnet to the booth and found them, it was such a funny thing!
So then we got to Tess's house where we all crammed on the two twin mattresses that Tess had. It was cozy!
The next morning we took off to Amsterdam! TO find the organic food market in Joordaan. Which Tess and I have been to and it's just across from the Anne Frank House! We got loads of yummy... and not so yummy food! That night... it ws not so yummy coming out! Haha! Anywho! I got this oh so delicous Tomatoe Tempanade! OMG! I cuold have died it was so good!
Then we spent hours and hours shopping! I wnet home late and make myself some Shorama with organic meat! HAhaha! It was so good!
Then The family came home on Sunday. It was nice to see them! Thijs was so happy to see me! He's decided I'm his best friend! I'm happy about that! Last night when I was getting him to bed, he decided he wanted me to read him his bedtime story, not his mama... But once I said goodnight he realised he really did want his mama! This morning I was getting him to the bathroom, and he had a dry diaper! I said :Oh you're such a big boy!" He said "Nee Ik ben a REALLY Big Boy!" It was so good! He said "Really" not another dutch word. So he recoginzes another English word!
Sheesh I havvent even gotten to why I'm such a bad au apair... and I need to go! Plus this is too long alrweady! Well I'll blog later tonight, or tomorrow...

Oh Yeah!!!

So the family is going outof town for the weekend... And I've just gotta say, I'm gonna sleep till I can no longer sleep! I hope that will get rid of this STUPID cold of mine! Oh I can't wait for the sleeping! But I will be lonesome and bored I'm sure! They'll be gone from Wenesday to Sunday night! But Tamsin, Tess's sis in law, has friends coming out here this week, and I think we get to show them around! Ha! Cause we so know our way around! Haha! But it should be fun! I'm gonna eat some more of these oh so lovely mini chocolate chip cookies I bought at C1000 yesterday! Oh they're yummy!

Awe I love the weekend!

This weekend was a nice one... At least I think so. Jet has so officially come down with chicken pox, and you can't help but feel sorry for the poor thing... It's 12 times worse than Thijs' was! She's spotting and pussy all over! But it's looking a bit better today than yesterday... And because she is feeling so bad she's got to stay home with me the last 2 days! Which I must say is pretty fun! As I said she's so cute it makes me sick some days.... Yah know I wish I were a kid... jet gets to have two naps everyday! And then just hang out! But I would imagine, no I know, it gets pretty frustrating for her... Being less than two feet tall must be annoying! You can't do anything by yourself... When I first got here she always wanted me to feed her... But now she yells "Icka ICKA!" Which is to say "Me ME!" But yah know whatever! She'll grow out of it, and one day be just like me. 23 and wishing she was only 18 months! Haha!

So Saturday, my "Day Off" was fun. I helped with Jet while Martine took Thijs shopping. Then we went to the plant nursery together. It was pretty fun chasing Jet around! I found where to buy myself some big rubber boots! And they're cute too and only like 25 euro's. So I'll probably go back sometime. Then I set up with Tess to have her come stay the night so we could bike ride to the beach.... Martine said it wasn't too far, so why not! Then Tess found out she had to work that night, so she decided to come out Sunday morning... Now I know we should have gone to Church but with me being sick I just really didn't feel like I had the energy to be social... But that's a goal for this week, to find out where I go to church!

Anywho! We spent the day riding our bikes around... By the time we were able to get everything together, me being extra slow in body and mind that day, we thought it wasnt nice enough to go to the beach... So we decided to save taht for another day... While we were ridding our bikes around we found 50 euro's on the park bench! It was an un marked envelope, so we thought, well it must be for us! Beside, the next person would do the same! So whatever! With this new found money we thought we had ought to go spend it! Haha! Jk! But we decided to go to Schipol airport, as it's only a five minute train ride from the station.... The station however is like a 30-45 minute bike ride... But we took it slow and easy, we were in no hurry. It was a really nice ride... We got to schipol... Got some starbucks, Frappacinno's for the both of us! Then we went to the international super market there, and I got myself a MT. Dew and a Root Beer! Yumm! I still havent had the Root Beer! Anyway! So we spent awhile there bought a purse at H&M! It's so cute! And then went home!
Thank goodness our bikes were still at the station! We rode back home, a different way than we came, but I knoew how to get us home! Though Tess knew I didn't really! But my sense of direction and instint led us home! And on the way home we got some pizza.... To eat when we got home... 45 minutes later! Haha! But the pizza was good and the company of Tess was even better!

We were a funny pair on Saturday... I felt like I had taken like 4 xanax the hwole day... And Tess was wired... IT was very funny! I think Tess got annooyed with me... But nothing could have annoyed me.. for some reason...

New Home New Blog!

Yeah I know I didn't change my new blog too much... But I wanted a new one just the same...
So yeah! Life is going pretty well... It's Saturday... I didn't have too much of a real day off... But hey who needs those?!? Tomorrow I hope to sleep in and take a trip to the beach with Tess! Here's hopin! Well also I can't complain cause I'll have a few extra days off next week, because the fam is going on a trip with some friends! So I'll have the place to myself... Though I'm sure Martine will be smart and come up with some great deep cleaning for me to do! Haha!
So You guys don't even know how incredibly happy I am right now to have my own computer in my own room! Wow! It's nearly the best thing EVER!!! I think I'm gonna put some music on... I was gonna put my ipod on but I decided that the awesome Simon and Garfunkel CD sounded better... I think I was so right!
So here's a funny story for you!
Or as Missy would say it... "Wanna hear a funny story?!?"
So Thijs is 3... He is seriously so cute! And it's funny, when I first saw him I thought he was such a hansom kid, and whats funny is that that's just what Tess said about him too! So yeah... Any way. Thijs is a very odd kid... in that he hates to poop! Now I know that that in it's self is not odd, but he will hold it in as best he can for like days and days on end! He's pooped like twice since I've been here and I can tell Martine is getting REALLY sick of it! Cause he cries and whines and pouts, all day, cause he has to poop and he doesn't want to! She says that it's this strange control thing he has, I can understand be 3, loosing your Dad and having control issues, in that you know you have no control over your life, so He thinks he can control his poop... It's quite a sad thing actually, cause he seriously cries so bad about it, and you just want to help him, but no matter how great you tell him pooping is, he wont do it... So this week we have been pumping the kid with prune juice and anything we can think of to make him HAVE TO go! And he is still strong, but thank goodness... Today after dinner his bloated belly couldn't take it anymore... and he pooped! YES HE POOPED!!! We were so happy for him!!! So Martine and I just praised him and told him he was such a good boy and so big! We're hoping that if we ignore the not pooping and praise the pooping, he might just stop this! Let's all hope for that!
So yeah... that's my sadly funny story for you!
Well if you all have any questions for me just let me know! Oh! And the other family I was with has found a new Au Pair... She starts on Tuesday... I'm sure I wont hear a peep if things go no so great... But oh well... I'm through with bashing them... They're outta my life.... But I think martine might have started a new catch phrase.... "That was so a Tanja!" Man oh man! I think Martine is so great!
